On the lake the tallest reed Sat in her boat facing the breeze; The mist sits still on the cool grey water, Holding it's breath for it's finest daughter. The paddles sit in embrace, A quiet moment taking place; Brown eyes still wet from a moments weakness, Another droplet makes the water deeper. She misses the life she knows only in her little book, And how she wishes to see that world. The crisp morning stings her clammy hands, Swimming to the bank she needs solid land. Lost on a lake and lost on a dream, Her bodies heavy, or so it seems, From blue to brown to grey to black, Her boat will never come back. On the lake there sit no reeds, Just a girl up to her knees, the silt sifts softly between her toes And the freshwater Neptune begins to grow. Lost on a lake and lost on a dream, Her bodies heavy or so it seems, From blue to brown to grey to black, Her boat will never come back.

Dead Fish 03:33
Even a dead fish can make its way down the stream, The end of my journey doesn't really concern me. Ferryman on the raft, I let other people pass, Always the same, the embankments change. New port to port on the cycle of water. On the bed my head rests, Parsing the silt and feeling enriched, The spawn of the fauna brings more life to mine When I breath it in the river respires. No time's of the essence I will come around My course will still change If the rains haven't come down. Ferryman on the raft I let other people pass Always the same the embankments change. New port to port on the cycle of water. Nobody knows where their river flows Nobody sees the turning of the breeze. The rolling of new waves into little eddies. Even a dead fish can make its way downstream The end of my journey doesn't really concern me.

Pondskater 01:58
Deej - I don't know how I wrote this song or when it came into my life, but the structure never sat still, it would change on me from day to day like a little pond skater bug. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gerridae Tim - A charming little interlude, we kept this stripped down and simple. This is pretty much 100% unadulterated Deej.

Bright Venus 03:08
Today this feeling accompanies me, It moves even though I don't. I can't take a single step If my mind won't. She moves me. Now bright Venus, She shines down on me. Tonight I'm pulled by a foreign force, It takes me somewhere new, I'm swept along the tide until I'm on a shore with you. She moves me. Now bright Venus, She shines down on me. Now the clouds are in my eyes And you are on the sand I could find a home If she would guide my hand. She moves me.

about

Deej - This short album acts as an appendix to the previous. It's pretty wet.

Tim - A little rest before we continue with the full-length followup. This is just a quiet moment taking place.

about

Deej Cooper Dunedin, New Zealand

Deej writes reflective, low tempo folk-esque songs and Tim improves them with delicate and precise orchestrations.

They both met in Dunedin, NZ at a party that neither was likely to go to and immediately decided to write an album together. A year later they released it to wild acclaim, star-studded award ceremonies and over-sensationalised artist bios.
